rubyday is back!

The 10th edition of rubyday has just concluded in Verona, Italy (June 16, 2023)! The conference dedicated to the ruby community is finally back in attendance. The last edition that has held in Verona was in 2019! Due to the pandemic, in 2020 and 2021, the event had been held online. Finally, let us say as loud as we can “We are back!”.

The conference generated great enthusiasm. The community had the desire to see each other face-to-face. All our events have a significant social component. The discussions between the talks are always crucial networking moments for all the attendees.

The talks were varied! Judging by the questions and enthusiasm of the audience, everyone got very excited! Our speakers talked about:

– artificial intelligence and chatGPT,

– functional programming,

how fundamental is creating a team with healthy interpersonal relationships,

advanced caching systems and code quality control,

programming language philosophy,

– training new people to join experienced teams.

It has been the perfect mix of technical talks and topics related to work optimization and attention to personal needs.

In front of about 150 participants, 8 international speakers with various backgrounds (technical and non-technical) took turns on stage. There was also room for a quick lightning talk dedicated to Euruko 2023! The MC of the conference was Monica Giambitto, and on stage we have seen Paolo Perrotta, Alessandro Rizzo, Bozhidar Batsov, Giulia Mialich, Frederick Cheung, Ju Liu, Ridhwana Khan and Hana Harencarova.

Now is the time for a well-deserved summer break! In the meantime, we will work hard to organize a great season of conferences that will be held in autumn. We look forward to meeting you all on September 29 in Faenza with the second edition of uxday!
